The SpeakEasy Reading Machine is designed to convert scanned text into high quality, human-like speech extremely rapidly. The technology used to convert your documents into speech is among the fastest available. The SpeakEasy is a smart machine, it can read many different types of documents and can even correctly orient your document. With this machine, you have total control over your documents. Adjust the speed of the reader, scroll through text using audio cues, or save documents for later; it's up to you.

Scan & Magnify

The SpeakEasy Reading Machine comes with a built-in flat panel LCD monitor which displays scanned image. As you navigate through your document, the reading machine intelligently and automatically zooms in and out on the areas of interest as it reads. Of course, you can turn the volume down and read for yourself, if you prefer!

Audio Books

Want to listen to books without all the hassle of scanning each page? The SpeakEasy Reading Machine lets you do just that! Audio Books are public domain books that have already been converted to text - no scanning required! Your library comes stocked with over four thousand titles. Access to these books is absolutely free. No internet connection or subscription fee is necessary.

Total Control

It may look like you are playing games, but with the arcade-style controller you can manage your documents intuitively. The SpeakEasy lets you play your document continuously, line by line, word by word, or letter by letter. If you miss something, it is very easy to make your SpeakEasy back up and replay it.
If you are looking for a specific part in your document, audio cues will help you navigate top to bottom as you scroll through the text. The controller also enables you to adjust the speed of the voice and even to switch readers mid-document.

Audio CD's

The SpeakEasy Reading Machine supports the playback of audio and mp3 CD's. Simply insert your disc into the system and select which track you would like to hear!

Intuitive Help Button

There is no training required to use the SpeakEasy Reading Machine. It has been set up to be easy to use and intuitive. To help you achieve proficiency, there is a dedicated Help button that makes it impossible to get "stuck." If you are having trouble finding a button, press Help, then press any button on the arcade controller. The machine will tell you what button you have pressed and what it does. Simply press the Help button again to resume working.

Storage

Save up to 10,000 documents on your SpeakEasy Reading Machine. By simply pressing the Storage button on the arcade controller, you can store and retrieve any document that has been scanned on the SpeakEasy. To assist you with quick retrieval of your documents, the system allows you to sort based on a variety of factors. You can save to the Reading Machine's internal storage or to a USB thumbdrive.

Non-Printed Document Files

Let us help you save trees! In addition to giving you access to printed material, the SpeakEasy Reading Machine also enables you to read documents saved to a USB thumb drive. Simply insert the drive, and text files will be read aloud as if they were a scanned document. (Supports the following file formats: .doc, .docx, .rtf, .txt, .pdf)

Portable Player (optional upgrade)

Read through your mail or listen to a book while you are out running errands. An iPod Portable Player can be added to the SpeakEasy Reading Machine package for an additional fee. This feature allows you to listen to your saved documents while you are away from your desk.
